Hydrated lime for pasteurizing straw, gorse or sawdust for growing oyster mushrooms.
This hydrated lime is low in magnesium, high in calcium and raises PH. Other types of lime - such as garden lime or dolomite lime - are high in magnesium, & will not work the same.
This is for use with a simple cold-water method of pasteurisation -- which is a cheaper safer alternative to heat pasteurisation.
For straw soak use 2-3g/L. Soak straw for 12-24hrs, drain for 4-12 hours, mix in spawn and bag into straw bags with pre-punched holes.

Please Google "Hydrated Lime Safety Precautions" and read before use. Hydrated lime can cause burns to skin and eyes in its powdered form if handled incorrectly.
